DESIGN. D&AD/V&A Bridge. Final concept

1707032-1502478-thumbnail.jpg 1707032-1502485-thumbnail.jpg

DESIGN A BRIDGE TO CONNECT TWO OF THE V&A'S LISTED BUILDINGS.
Concept: In transition.
The bridge is a space between spaces, with people using it being 'in transition'. The glass bridge mimics the environment surrounding it, so that from certain angles it appears not to exist. Once people walk through the bridge, parts of the glass becomes transparent so that people appear to be hovering. Essentially a fire escape, users of the bridge are reassured by being inside a 'void', and guided to a light at the end of the tunnel.

DEMONSTRATE THE NOTION OF IDENTITY THROUGH A COLLECTION OF RECEIPTS.

Receipts are interpreted typographically in an objective, rational way—set in blue on white pages. These spreads are the structure of the catalogue and show my routine.

The ongoing blue/red line running through represents my only constant - time.

Red represents an emotional, subjective response to the receipt, set on trace so as to be an integral overlay to the objective response, but also a separate entity in itself.
